BA Returns To Sharm el Sheikh

Good news for the British Divers out there - British Airways flights have now returned to Sharm El Sheikh. Since the 4th of November 2023, British Airways now have four scheduled flights for the winter from London Gatwick to Sharm el Sheikh on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Although there are many airlines now flying direct from the United Kingdom, the return of BA to Sharm el Sheikh is seen by many in the tourism sector as a resounding vote of confidence in the resort of Sharm el Sheikh and diving holidays in the Red Sea.

At  time of writing the BA website (www.britishairways.com) is showing the lowest return prices for 7 days LGW - SSH starting at :

NOV 2023 - £221    DEC 2023 - £215    JAN 2024 -£213    FEB 2024 - £219    MAR 2024 - £223

 BA no longer includes checked baggage in the shown prices but the additional fees of £30 - 35 each way per 23kg bag are generally lower than most budget airlines.  The cabin bag allowance is also more generous with a small suitcase, duffel bag, or holdall which can weigh up to 23kg as long as you can lift it into the overhead locker. (Max dimensions 56 x 45 x 25 cm).You can also take a small handbag (40 x 30 x 15cm) which can be placed under your seat.

The good news for divers is sports equipment as long as it can fit in either your cabin package or checked baggage can be carried at no extra charge. Extra bags can be booked upon request.
