PADI Divemaster - What Comes Next?
With two divemasters just having qualified here
at Circle Divers Sharm (congratulations Mohammed and Ziad !), it’s the ideal
time to look at what a Divemaster Certification means.
If you have ever dreamed of getting paid to
share your love of scuba diving with others, a divemaster certification is the
minimum you will need to get a job in the dive industry.
A PADI Divemaster certification opens doors worldwide
with over 6,600 PADI Dive Centres, Resorts and Liveaboards in 186 countries.
Jobs are posted daily to PADI’s Job board.
What Can Divemasters Do?
Even though it may sound like you’re the boss,
a “Master”, a divemaster is actually the first step on the rung of the PADI
Professional ladder.
Divemasters will typically assist instructors
with classes and guide or lead certified divers on underwater adventures. If
they are working at a dive center or shop, a divemaster may often help with the
filling of tanks, loading gear, checking in divers and other essential tasks.
Think of it as an apprenticeship to a PADI
Instructor – but a lot more fun than a traditional apprenticeship.
Divemaster to IDC (including EFRi) and OWSI (Open
Water Scuba Instructor).
In addition, divemasters can also :

program

Accompany certified PADI Scuba
divers and Open Water Divers on dives

Teach Discover Snorkeling and
PADI Advanced Snorkeler
Additional training also allows PADI Divemasters to conduct a DSD in a pool or
confined water.
