The area directly behind Circle Divers named Il Mercato Street after the hotel, is bustling with activity at night time, with various restaurants making it diverse and inviting to people from all sorts of backgrounds.
Some of the restaurants in the Il Mercato area are :
Tejano's Grill House - a new restaurant concept specialising in hand-crafted beef burgers and Tex-Mex favourites. Burritos, enchiladas, faijitas, quesadillas and other Mexican classics are joined by a wide selection of burgers, chicken and beef, with brisket, lamb chops and steaks also on the menu. All the food is made with premium locally sourced fresh ingredients and there's a wide range of salads, soups and vegetarian choices available. The relaxing atmosphere is perfect for a casual intimate dinner but Tejano's also cater well for large groups too. A favourite amongst residents in the area, although the Grill House doesn't have an alcohol license you are always welcome to take your own with no extra corkage charges.
Fares - Mediterranean and Egyptian Seafood, cuisines are served at Fares Traditional Restaurant. With other options for vegetarians and other meat dishes available. The restaurant serves tasty grilled prawns, excellent seafood soup and is one of the few independent restaurants where you can enjoy "authentic" lobster (not crayfish!) Often visitors comment that when visiting this spot, it's a must to try great coffee, fresh juices or mango juice. The prices are affordable and the restaurant is in a clean setting with a charming atmosphere.
Einstein Kaffe - A German Coffee house situated at the far end of Il Mercato as well as serving excellent coffee they have a varied menu with bakery favourites such as pretzels and fresh baked baguette sandwiches alongside salads and light pasta dishes. An ideal spot to sit and watch the world go by.
Rayahen Roastery - is where you can find lovely coffee, ice cream and a choice of roasted or flavoured nuts with Egyptian and Turkish-style treats packaged in nice boxes to take home as gifts. Next door is the brother of Rayahen who has opened his own Syrian food restaurant which offers tasty chicken Shawarma served in a Syrian bread wrap, Syrian falafel wrap (different from Egyptian falafel) and many other tasty things for you to try. Defiantly try the fresh mint and lemon juice here - its a favourite amongst our staff.
McDonalds - We all know the McDonalds menu, it's virtually the same worldwide. For a quick and relatively cheap snack it's hard to beat a Maccy D's. McDonalds Egypt also deliver and if you plan on eating there a lot (or if you have kids who love a Happy Meal) try to download the McDonald's Egypt app from the App Store on Apple or Play Store on Android for some great offers.
Gelato Ice Cream - after you have finished your evening meal make a quick stop to this Ice Cream shop next door to Vodafone - the ice creams are handmade the Italian way and each one is delicious.
Other restaurants in the close vicinity of the dive centre:
Safety Stop Cafe and Restaurant - Our very own onsite restaurant is very quickly gaining a reputation for some of the best pizzas in town and the burger is pretty awesome too! A chicken wrap is huge and very tasty, while we also offer a selection of pasta dishes and salads throughout the day. Whether it's an early morning coffee with a pastry, a light lunch or an evening meal after a day's diving, you won't be disappointed. With an outdoor garden area and a no smoking indoor air-conditioned seating area it's the ideal place to stop for an apres dive chat with your fellow divers while sharing a pizza (or two!) The restaurant serves hot and cold drinks but has a BYO (bring your own) policy on deco beers or other alcoholic beverages.
REMEMBER: Every Thursday Safety Stop hosts Sharm's only weekly Divers BBQ & DJ Party from 7pm with some of Sharm's top djs and karaoke to party the night away.
Lolla Palooza - This Italian restaurant serving authentic Italian pizzas and pastas turns into a bar/disco on the weekends with live singers and a DJ to dance your night away.
Sharm Home Bakery (Da Paulo Pizza) - some of the loveliest bread is baked on the premises here by the owners making the sandwiches on offer very tasty - or just pop in for a slice of homemade cake and a coffee. The pizzas are always good and the atmosphere is a friendly homely place, they even have a second outlet now on the Salam Rd which runs from Hadaba to Nabq.
Delta Sharm - On the front street of Delta Sharm there is a variety of restaurants to choose from including Il Punto (italian), Tres Fratelli (Italian), Wasabi (Sushi) & Richys Bar & Restaurant (International Bistro)
El Salam/ Peace Rd - Quickly becoming a foodie area with a choice of many restaurants and takeaways to choose from on the strip between Hadaba and Naama Bay (you have probably passed them on the bus to go diving!) There are Chinese food Chopsticks and Chill, Seafood Fares, Sushi SeaWeed, Turkish Doner House, Ukranian UA Foods and a novel jacket potato store Mr and Mrs Patates to name but a few. Most of the restaurants are BYO so don't forget tot take your own beer & wine if you fancy a drink too (there's a couple of Drinkies bottle shops on the strip - 1 just before Carrefour) and most of the restaurants are set a reasonable distance from the traffic of the main road you will forget you are so close. In the cooler Autumn/Winter months its a nice walk and well lit in the evenings.
