Sharm El Sheikh is home to some of the best wreck dives in the Red Sea, including the world-famous SS Thistlegorm, the historic Dunraven, and the massive Million Hope.
🛳 SS Thistlegorm (WWII Shipwreck)
The SS Thistlegorm sank during World War II and is considered one of the top wreck dives in the world. The first dive explores the exterior, while the second takes you inside the wreck, where you can see the historic cargo, including jeeps, motorbikes, and locomotives. This early morning dive takes 3-4 hours to reach, and a full visa ($25) is required for entry.
🚢 Dunraven Wreck (Beacon Rock, Ras Mohammed)
The Dunraven, a wooden steamship that sank in 1873, rests at Beacon Rock in Ras Mohammed National Park. This swim-through wreck dive is covered in coral and home to vibrant marine life, with frequent visits from dolphin pods.
⚓ Million Hope Wreck (Tiran Straits)
The Million Hope, a huge bulk carrier that sank in 1996, is an impressive wreck dive if sea conditions allow. At 174.6 meters long, it offers shallow depths (0-22m) for extended exploration.
